Artificial vibrissae

An analogue of the eyes is a camera, an ear is a microphone, a speech apparatus is a speaker, muscles are a servo drive, and what about a cat’s whiskers? Finally, there is a revolution here too. Scientists have created artificial vibrissae that can respond to the slightest vibrations.

Why is this needed? Cats use this tool for navigation. Thanks to air vibrations, cats, as it were, by touch measure the distance from the vibrissa to the object, moving around a dark apartment. In addition, there is a hypothesis that thanks to whiskers, cats are able to feel an earthquake. Unlike the original (conceived by nature), these vibrissae are not capable of measuring temperature, but for this we have infrared sensors.
